Cat Walk
by Marcia Moonstar
Out for a cat walk,
Like a she-wolf in heat,
Eyes wide, looking for new territory,
Shifting gears, changing my self talk,
I am not losing my soul
over someone else's shoulds and should nots,
I am ready to dig myself out of this black hole
discover hidden talents,
appreciate myself more,
do the confidence strut.
Keep my instincts fresh, alive,
Ready for some one-on-one vibrating,
Burning the sheets red with desire,
From dusk to dawn, feeling the heat, wild, free, untamed.
I have entered the guilt-free zone.
San Francisco native Marcia Moonstar began writing poetry as a teenager.
She has traveled and lived throughout the Northwest developing and performing
her unique style of poetry, which has grown over the years to include music,
dance and masks. In the spring of 2002, she completed a CD of her poetry,
"Moon Magic," blending new age and world music. You can find
Marcia most Sundays at the Ballard Market where her CD, poetry greeting cards
and chapbooks are available for sale. You can see more of Marcia's work at
