A Change of Clothes
by Nicole Janeen Jones
I used to need the comfort
of a thick knit turtleneck,
oversized, my shape
concealed beneath. It kissed
my lips, tweaked my nose.
My eyes opened
with your siege.
Now I wear blouses;
the pattern of lace peeks
through translucence.
The opal buttons
unlock when we dance.
