A local chapter of 9to5,
the national organization for Working Women has formed in Seattle! The 100% volunteer
chapter is now accepting founding members. Here’s your chance to network and meet other
working women, ask questions, talk about problems at work, talk about solutions to problems
facing working women, etc. Three or four special events each year will focus on issues
relevant to working women. As a founding member, you have the opportunity to help shape
the chapter’s direction. You can join by calling 1-800-522-0925. Please make sure to
tell them that you are signing up to be a member of "PUGET SOUND 9TO5" so that the local
chapter will get credit for your membership. Your $25 membership with the national
organization also gets you membership with our chapter. There are no extra fees for
membership in the local chapter.
DO share news of this organization with your friends.
DO forward this e-mail to whomever you like.
DO invite men to be involved as well (there are many men on the 9to5 National Activist
Roster).
DO feel free to contact Tera Schreiber with
questions!
Writergrrl Wendy Blake has a special request to help Seattle Live Literature:
"Have you been to Coffee Messiah? Cafe Vita? Brewhaha Tea and Coffee
Company? How about the Bad Juju Lounge? So many venues, so little time! We're
Working hard to make Seattle Live Literature a great site to visit for information about
live literary events, and to that end, we’re collecting ambiance blurbs: brief descriptions
of coffee houses, bookstores, and theatres where author readings, open mics, and other live
literature events occur. Can you help us out? Write to Nicole or Wendy
if you’d like to contribute some descriptive words that will help visitors to the site find
what they’re looking for. Thanks"
