Beyond the Zine

Blow Your Own Trumpets!

By Emma Marl

Has your novel finally been published? Got that first poem in print? Won an award? Landed a great new job? Whatever your achievement, we want to hear about it.

Beyond the Zine is the place where Writergrrls get to tell the world about the great things happening in their professional and personal lives. It can be a success or event related to writing or editing, or something that you, as a Writergrrl, want to tell the other members of our community.

Maybe you are doing a book reading, performing in a play or putting on a gig with your band. You might be organizing a writers' group, teaching a course, helping your employer launch a new product or taking part in a charity fund-raising event.

This is your chance to share good news and drum up support.

To include information in Beyond the Zine, please write a brief description of your announcement, including any contact information and links if appropriate, in 200 to 300 words. Take a look at the information on submitting articles for details of how to send it in.

For information about Writergrrls meetings and events, including our monthly members meeting, take a look at our Calendar page. This also includes links to the events of other writing-related groups in the Seattle area.

Emma Marl is a legal alien, writer and editor. She fills the time between bouts of looking for an employer to sponsor her work visa by volunteering as Zine Facilitating Editor and a member of the Seattle Writergrrls Steering Committee.
